In my anecdotal experience, my estimation is that about 97.5% of restaurants and bars, which serve food, use a printer and NOT a KDS (Kitchen Display Screen).
The technology has just recently rounded a corner in a way that has made KDS technology more functional for restaurants’ needs.
Recently, I setup a restaurant with a Clover POS and a Clover KDS.
However, there were some features about the Clover KDS that the restaurant did not prefer.
Since Viral Bites is an independent business, not a sales rep working for a single company, we are able to offer a wide variety of solutions to businesses.
We found a wonderful solution for businesses using Clover.
It is called Fresh KDS.
It is an independent KDS company that integrates with dozens of restaurant POS systems.
The setup was super easy and quick. The cost is only $19/month for the plan that the restaurant has.
For the restaurants that prefer not to be dealing with paper tickets everywhere, unpredictable internet connections and to have a timer on each order, which paper tickets obviously can’t offer, this is a wonderful solution.
Here is a picture of me with the Fresh KDS.
It is easily accessible being that it works with iPads, Samsung tablets, some tablets made specifically for the heat of kitchens and a host of other types of tablet devices.
Overall, I give it a 10/10 rating.
I highly recommend it for any of Viral Bites’ clients and anyone else with a restaurant looking for an inexpensive, efficient way to operate their BOH.
